Addressing climate change challenges with a community planning perspective

Energy Transitions for Climate Mitigation

We work with cities and communities to accelerate a just energy transition. Past projects have addressed energy poverty in Portugal and proposed strategies for co-designing offshore wind projects.

Public Health and Compound Risks

Climate change is disrupting the fundamental conditions of human life and exacerbating existing inequity by placing further burdens on communities that are already vulnerable. Exposure to risk and its
consequences varies by where people live and work. We are researching the overlapping spatial nature and multiplicity of compound risks associated with COVID-19 and extreme heat in places like New York City.

Climate Adaptation Planning

We work with cities and communities to develop climate resilience plans to prepare for and adapt to climate disasters, address inequities associated with climate change, and plan for other longer-term impacts, such as climate migration.
